Extensive research has revealed that a plastic scale model kit of the series 3 Lambretta does not currently exist on the market. So Lambretta owners and enthusiasts have been deprived of the opportunity to build a desktop model of their favourite scooter.
To satisfy this gap, I am planning to launch the Lambretta GP200 1/6th scale model kit in early 2024. It will be based on the ultra-high detail 3D model that features throughout my Facebook group.
Retail price is still to be determined but it will probably be in the range of £150 to £175. Each 3D printed kit will be of an exceptional level of detail with removable side panels and full engine details. At 1/6th scale the model itself will be almost 30cm long and at the correct scale for most action figures (such as Action Man).
The main launch will be followed by a range of additional custom and performance kit parts that can be purchased and used to upgrade and customise your model. This will include such things as
- Snetterton and fast back seats
- Expansion chamber exhausts
- Disc brakes
- Large carburettors with panel cut outs
- Race tyres
- Tubeless rims
- Spare wheel
- Racks etc.
I am also planning to offer a bespoke service where unique one-off parts can be modelled and printed to order.
For the launch, each kit will take more than 30 hours to print and will also be hand finished and inspected. For this reason, there will only be a small number of kits made for the first batch released in early 2024.
