Review of TRAC - Focus Group

by arma (uk) Premium (Classic)

Following announcements by the Department for Education and the Department for Energy and Industrial Strategy, UKRI the Office for Students and the other UK HE Funding Councils have commissioned KPMG to undertake a ‘Review of the Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC)’. The review will focus on understanding the burdens associated with the TRAC system and to evaluate this in relation to its benefits. It will aim to identify improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the system in meeting the needs of the multiple stakeholders and users. The BEIS statement in particular outlines the importance of UKRI having complete information on the true cost of research.

KPMG are engaging with a range of stakeholders in order to understand current practices around costing and TRAC, and to explore the burdens and benefits of TRAC. They are also keen to understand the extent to which TRAC and the Charge-out rates provide the true cost of research when reported to UKRI.

With this in mind, KPMG would like to invite ARMA representatives who would be willing to participate in a focus group. The focus group will take place on 20 April 12.00 - 14.00. If you are interested in participating, please submit your expression of interest by signing up to the waitlistr. The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on 15 April. Shortly after, you will be notified if you have been allocated a place at the focus group. The focus group will be hosted by KPMG via Teams.
