Spring 2020 - Watercolour for Improvers

This course is for those with a small amount of watercolour experience who want to expand their knowledge. Over the ten weeks you will continue to build your confidence and knowledge as you explore this wonderful medium.
You will need to purchase some materials for this course, please see list below.
Watercolour Paint: A set that will give you a good selection of colours such as a Winsor and Newton Cotman Watercolour 12 Tube Set.
Watercolour Brushes: Choose brushes specifically made for watercolour painting. Three or four round brushes sizes 6, 8 and 10 (No. 12 optional) will be sufficient to start with. There are a number of brands on the market. ‘Pro Arte’ Prolene Watercolour Series 101 or Jacksons (online) Studio Synthetic Series 505 are good value and can be purchased individually. Watercolour Paper: Watercolour paper can be bought in pads or by the sheet and cut into smaller pieces. A Bockingford Spiral Watercolour Pad 12”x9”, Cold Press 300g/m (140lb), or a sheet of Bockingford Watercolour paper, Cold Press 300g/m (140lb) cut into 4 or 6 pieces would be suitable. Palette: A palette with large and small mixing wells is suggested such as a Jakar large rectangular palette.
2B pencil, Eraser and Putty rubber (putty rubber optional).
